Got Your Holiday Allowance? Use Tokopedia’s ‘Kelola Tagihan’ Feature to Pay Bills Before the 2023 Eid Hometown Pilgrimag

Jakarta, 15 April 2023 - The distribution of the Holiday Allowance (THR) is a moment most Indonesians have been waiting for, especially for workers with a minimum of one month's employment period. THR is usually used by the public to meet various needs ahead of the holidays, including paying off assorted bills before the 2023 Eid hometown pilgrimage.

“Usually when there are many bills, we tend to forget which bills have been paid and which have not. You’d be fined if you actually forget to pay certain bills. Seeing this predicament, Tokopedia launched the ‘Kelola Tagihan’ feature,” said Tokopedia Digital Goods Senior Lead, Bayu Aditya.

This feature allows the public to pay dozens of bills and top-ups–including Data Packages, PLN Electricity, m-tix XXI, Internet and Cable TV, PDAM Water, Telkom, Insurance Premiums, Land and Building Taxes, Credit Installments, Electronic Money, Pre and Postpaid Phone Credit, Property, Gas, and BPJS Health and Employment–all at once, in one page.

“In addition to the bills not being separated and can be paid all at once, the ‘Kelola Tagihan’ feature on Tokopedia makes it easy for the public to find out the billing details that must be paid each month, as well as the due date for each bill. This enables people to pay off their bills on time and avoid fines,” Bayu explained.

Credit Installments, BPJS, PBB, Electricity and PDAM transactions at Tokopedia increased twofold towards Eid 2023. Check out how to pay bills through ‘Kelola Tagihan’ on Tokopedia!

“Using the ‘Kelola Tagihan’ feature on Tokopedia is very easy. Users simply click ‘Bayar Sekaligus’, then click ‘Tambah Tagihan’ to add various kinds of bills that need to be paid on one page. When all bills that need to be paid have been registered, users will be reminded periodically by the system so they don't forget to pay the bills,” added Bayu.

Users can also activate the auto-debit system for each bill by clicking ‘Bayar Otomatis’. After that, users can set the Automatic Pay Period (select daily, weekly, monthly or yearly), Frequency (every number of months the bill will be paid) and Automatic Pay Date.

To activate the auto-debit system, Tokopedia users can choose various payment methods, including virtual account transfers, credit cards or installments, and instant payments such as GoPay.

“Based on Tokopedia's internal data, transactions for Credit Installments, BPJS Health and Employment, PBB tax, PLN electricity, and PDAM water have an average increase of almost two times during the Ramadan 2023 period (data period: 23 March-10 April 2023) compared to Ramadan last year (data period: 6-24 April 2022),” said Bayu.

Let’s pay these bills using holiday allowance (THR) before going home for Eid 2023!

1. Top-up e-money before traveling via the toll road

Make sure the balance of your electronic money card (e-money) is sufficient so that it doesn't hinder other motorists' journey, especially when using toll roads. Topping up electronic money cards is easier through Tokopedia, just do it via a cellphone with the NFC feature.

2. PLN electricity and PDAM water bills

Make sure that this month's electricity and water bills are paid no later than the 20th of each month to avoid late fees. This is also so that when people return home from traveling, electricity and water can still be used and not turned off or blocked.

3. Internet and cable TV

Payment for Internet and cable TV bills are also usually due on the 20th of each month. Don't forget to pay this bill before going on holiday so that the Internet and cable TV are still connected when people return home.

4. Pre and postpaid credit and telephone bills

Prepare phone credit and data packages so that communication with relatives, as well as Internet connections are maintained during the 2023 Eid hometown trip.

5. Donations and Zakat

Perfect the Ramadan worship ahead of Eid 2023 by setting aside a portion of THR to donate to people in need. Donations are now easier to do online. In addition to donations, people can pay zakat fitrah and fidyah through Tokopedia.

“After paying zakat through Tokopedia, users can receive certificates as official evidence as well as reports regarding the zakat distribution carried out by verified humanitarian agency partners,” concluded Bayu.
